Today marks the start of 2020's first (of two) seasons at ACGL. This follows January's pre-season where final bugs were ironed out after the launch of this year's site.  We would like to thank you all for your feedback during our preseason which has been instrumental in giving us an opportunity to refine our systems.

Elo and how to earn it

From today until the end of June, all matches played in leagues, cups and matchfinders will reward you in an Elo ranking system. Tournament matches will generally have a higher multiplier than that of the matchfinders.

Elo rating uses a relative skill level system and awards points based on matches won or lost and based on the respective rating of the opposing player or team. As you rank up the leaderboard, you will be placed in one of five tiers in 2020. However, we will only be revealing the first three ranks right now.

Your Elo ranking tier will generally be used for seeding. However, the ranking will also guide additional cups, training programs, rewards and more. So, competing and improving, is the key to getting as much as you can out of your time with ACGL.

Get ranked

At the start of the season, players will be tasked with completing at least five matches on the platform via any of the competitive opportunities available. Once five matches are completed, you will be placed in one of our three ranked tiers, with additional matches altering rankings throughout the season:

  • Wood: Our Wood Division is the lowest rank on the platform. It will be awarded to players that have an Elo ranking of less than 1,200
  • Iron: Our Iron Division is the mid-tier division, and is awarded to players with an Elo of 1,200 to 1,600
  • Gold: Gold Division will initially be our highest division, and will be awarded to players with an Elo of 1,600 +

During the course of Season One, we will be introducing two new ranks. We will additionally be refining our calculations on what the requirements for each division are.

Matchfinders are back!

We are excited to have the matchfinders back for our first season of 2020. Matchfinders allows you to search for matches against opposition players/teams and play them in a heads-up game that directly affects your Elo rating. The matchfinders are designed to offer you more flexible opportunities to compete.

Our system will prioritise matching players of similar skill (once initial placements are complete) against one another when searching for games.

Matchfinders operate from 19:00 - 23:00 on weekdays and 17:00 - 23:00 on weekends. The following titles matchfinders are available:

  • Fortnite Boxfight Solos
  • Modern Warfare 2v2
  • Clash Royale Solo
  • FIFA 20 Solo

Please note that matchfinders only match players with others searching during the allocated times.
