Over the last few days we have been building to this point, with announcements of our online tournament updates and additions, and the Minor LAN program. Now we're pleased to announce our 'Major' LAN series, and specifically, the first event in the series.

#AfrEsports will be hosted at Grand West on 24 and 25 February 2018 with the major tournament titles confirmed for this first event being Call of Duty: WWII and FIFA 18. Additional titles such as Injustice 2, Rocket League and more will be featured in smaller tournaments at the event.

The event is structured to welcome competitors of all skill levels, as well as those still finding their feet in the growing world of esports. This will be achieved via a number of secondary tournaments over the weekend aimed at those wanting to dip their toe into the competitive scene but who worry that only the 'pros' will be at the major tournaments.

To further enforce access to all gamers, we will also offer a free entry option to the event which is aimed at those more keen on supporting and spectating than competing. If you've heard the phrase 'esports', but haven't experienced it, this is the opportunity for you to see it in action.

Over the coming weeks we will be detailing more about AfrEsports and what you can expect, while tournament registrations for Call of Duty and FIFA will open on 24 January 2018. In the meanwhile book the dates and prepare yourself for the first in our 2018 series of Major events.
