    This past weekend saw the conclusion of our first season of Mortal Kombat 11 action. After weeks of online qualifiers, all roads led to the Protea Hotel Fire & Ice! by Marriott in Pretoria for the Last Chance Qualifier and the top eight finale.

    The Last Chance Qualifiers welcomed players from South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Tanzania as they battled for the opportunity to join the top four online qualifiers. 32 players battled through a tough double elimination bracket to secure the slots available.     Rainbow Six Siege players, it is time for your next league event on ACGL. The Debonairs Pizza league for Rainbow Six Siege will offer a R1,000 winner-takes-all cash prize per platform. The action will play out on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and will run for around one month.

    FIFA 19 fans on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, get yourselves ready for around a month of online action. We will be hosting a FIFA 19 league from 29 July to 25 August 2019 with cash up for grabs on both platforms. The FIFA 19 is sponsored by Debonairs Pizza and forms part of their ongoing series.

    Registrations are now open and will close on 28 July 2019. The league will be played using 'normal teams' (ie. this is NOT a FUT tournament). Entry to the league is free, with matches starting on 29 July. Players will compete through the group phase until 18 August, at which point the top players per group will return on 25 August to compete for their share of the prize pool up for grabs.

    The Debonairs Pizza Series for June is now finished and over the course of the four weeks, we hosted almost 20 tournaments across multiple titles.

    There was around R10,000 in cash and R5,000 in vouchers handed out over the month, with well over 1,800 competitors competing in the cups and match-finders. It made for a busy and engaging month, and we promise more of the same (and a few new things) in July.

    The very last of the MK11 XP Cups for Season 1 took place this past weekend where players were fighting for their last chance to get into the Top 16 Online Pro Cup, scheduled 6th of July. The online top 16 qualifier is vital for the players as it grants direct entry into the Grand Finale at Fire & Ice Menlyn. On the line there is R30,000, a trip to Ireland and more up for grabs. 

    A handful of players sat comfortably at the top of the leaderboard, with the knowledge that they were simply playing for their pride and seed for the Top 16 qualifier. For most, however, they were fighting to maintain or overtake their position on the leaderboard. At 14h00, the time had come for the players to click their fingers and raise their controllers in the effort to fight for their lives in the tournament.

    The tickets to compete at the LAN event for Mortal Kombat 11 are now available to purchase. The event will be hosted at the Protea Hotel Fire & Ice! in Menlyn on Saturday 27 July 2019. 

    Tickets for the event are R100 per person. Alongside entry to the tournament for the day and its prizes, competitors will each receive a six-pack of Fokof Lager vs Mortal Kombat gamer cans, a Mortal Kombat T-Shirt and a Famous Fire & Ice! Milkshake.

  • Debonairs Pizza Series | There's a juicy line-up of cups this July

    We're now heading into the fifth month of action in our partnership with Debonairs Pizza, and have already run over 30 tournaments across a variety of titles. R40,000 in cash has been awarded in the past four months while an additional R20,000 in vouchers has been given away.

    For July, we want to again award multiple titles but there have been some that have seen more support than otthers, so those will be getting a little extra special treatment. We are also introducing a few more titles to the roster for the month. Should they prove popular, they will become a more permanent feature. The FIFA and Rainbow Six Siege communities should not fret, as we will be launching leagues later in July that will continue into August as part of the Debonairs Pizza series.

    Once again, there is cash and pizza vouchers up for grabs for July. The cash will be awarded to the weekly cups as listed below while the Debonairs Pizza vouchers will be split between the cups, match-finders and social media engagements.

    This weekend sees the second XP Cup in our first season of Mortal Kombat action. We've already revealed the R30,000 cash prize pool, a trip overseas,and our LAN final venue partner. Today we are pleased to announce that thanks to local distributor Apex Interactive, both Razer and Turtle Beach have jumped on board.

    A variety of products from the two brands will be up for grabs across both the online cups and to the winners at the LAN finale at the Protea Hotel Fire & Ice! by Marriott.
