    The Debonairs Pizza series is heading into its fourth month and with it we are planning to really share the winning feeling.

    This past weekend saw the culmination of May's Debonairs Pizza Cup for Fortnite. The top eight players from our ladders joined forces with eight streamers to compete for the R10,000 cash up for grabs.

    The eight teams battled in a double elimination kill race until just two were standing and ready to battle for the lion's share of the prize pool.

    In the end it was the qualifying ladder's first seed Warrior -_- and his streaming partner Hutchie that secured first place, remaining undefeated in the bracket.

    This past Sunday, the match-finders for May's Debonairs Pizza Series came to an end. The focus title was Fortnite, and the match-finder saw around 500 matches played, with over 160 players competing. On the line was a top eight spot and a chance to team up with one of our featured streamers. There is also the small matter of R10,000 in cash being up for grabs come 25 May.

    This past weekend saw the top four teams in the Debonairs Pizza Cup (for Black Ops 4) battling it out to secure the top spot and the lion’s share of the prize pool.

    The four teams had made it through the first weekend’s main bracket play (while dodging the always threatening load-shedding) to play out the drama to a live stream audience.

    Over the course of around six hours, Bravado Gaming, Energy Esports, Krypto Gaming and White Rabbit Gaming gave the viewers a real showcase of local Call of Duty. Matches were generally close-run affairs with a number of thrilling comebacks and plays.     We are closing in on the end of the first month in the Debonairs Pizza series of online tournaments, and the Call of Duty Cup has reached the point where only four teams are still standing.

    After a gruelling day of double elimination action that started with 23 teams, the top four will return on Sunday 31 March (load-shedding willing) to compete for the cash and products on the line. The remaining matches will be streamed live on our YouTube channel.

    On 16 and 17 March 2019, GrandWest Casino and Entertainment World played host to a slightly different version of the third Afresports event, while MWEB joined as sponsors for the third time in a row.

    This year saw the UCON event by the UCT Genshiken Society join us to offer a wider variety of geek culture elements alongside our more casual tournament experiences.
