Press Release:

VOX GAMING ANNOUNCES NEW TOURNAMENT SEASON

Cash up for grabs across a variety of titles

South Africa, 16 September 2021 – Vox, an integrated ICT and infrastructure provider and telecommunications company, has entered the local gaming and esports scene with a series of regular tournaments hosted by African Cyber Gaming League (ACGL).

From September 2021, competitors can sign up and compete for free in one-day cups and longer format series across a variety of titles. All cups will feature a cash prize pool awarded to the top three participants.

Vox Gaming

Vox has recently added Gaming to their stable of products with gaming console rentals and gaming essentials sitting comfortably alongside their extensive fibre options.

The addition of gaming events and now gaming tournaments is a natural fit to the expanding products list.

“Today, gaming is something that appeals to all generations and by making the likes of the next-generation Xbox consoles available for rental with a fully managed service and bundling it with fibre connectivity and digital content access, it suddenly becomes something everyone can enjoy and afford. Furthermore, speed and responsiveness are critical in online gaming, and we saw an immediate synergy between what we can offer and what high performing gamers require. Vox’s low latency network design with transit routes throughout South Africa, North America, South America, Europe and the rest of the world provide smoother play when the gaming server you have to use is not in South Africa. We believe that partnerships like this will go a long way towards growing talent in South Africa and with high-speed reliable connectivity”, says Andrew King, Head of Gaming at Vox.

Compete and Win

The Vox Cup Series gets underway on 25 September 2021 with a COD Mobile tournament, and is followed on 26 September 2021 with a Rocket League competition. Both cups feature a R2,000 cash prize pool.

The action will continue in October 2021 and beyond with tournaments for Fortnite, FIFA 22 and more planned. The full line-up of available tournaments will be listed on the dedicated Vox Cup Series landing page hosted on ACGL.

ACGL offers users additional options to win on the site. For every match completed, players will be rewarded with Embers. These Embers can be used to enter random giveaways each month with sponsored products up for grabs. The more you enter, the higher your chances of winning, so ensure you enter and compete as often as possible.
