The second MWEB Gaming Gathering event (powered by MSI Gaming South Africa) was hosted on 19 July at the MWEB Head Office in Cape Town. The streaming and streamer focused event saw RocoMamas and Red Bull ensure attendees were all fueled up.

The evening saw speakers, gaming, the aforementioned food and beverages, giveaways and plenty of socialising and chatting.

Introductions by the night's MC (our very own Nick Holden) were followed by an announcement by MWEB's Derrick Kaylor that MWEB had rolled out a local Twitch relay server. This should ensure an improved streaming experience for South African streamers.

The second event's guest speakers saw the return of Grant Hinds, alongside first-time speakers Glenn Alexander, Kyle Swart, Angela C and Nicholas Hall. The talks covered streaming, building a community, the legalities of streaming and more. It ended with an an engaging Q&A discussion between the panel and attendees, which should have inspired a few more budding streamers to take flight.

MSI Gaming brought along a variety of high-end laptops for attendees to game on, while a F1 2019 setup offered the fastest lap of the night a copy of the game sponsored by Apex Interactive. Gage Ridley secured the top spot with a relatively blistering lap of around 1:10.

There were giveaways on the night, and thanks to a full house the event’s hashtag trended on Twitter during the night. Importanttly, we will be returning on 11 October 2019 with the third event, so start marking the day in your diary.

You can find our photo album from the event here, and a photo album from Zombiegamer here.

The ACGL management team would like to thank all the sponsors, partners, attendees and crew for assisting in bringing the event to life. We will have more information on the next one soon, and look forward to seeing you all again at the third event.
